Let Me Tell You A Business Plan Secret

After writing over 350 business plans to date, I have learned a thing or two about business plan development. The executive summary is the first part of the business plan and is usually considered something similar to a one page business plan. Writing the executive summary may seem daunting to some people that don't know where to start but it is actually quite easy. As I mentioned, it is like the one page business plan. It should summarize the entire business plan. A business plan is comprised of an executive summary, a company description, a SWOT analysis, market research, industry analysis, a management and organizational plan, a marketing plan, a financial plan and a conclusion. Your executive summary should basically summarize all of these sections. To keep it simple, simply write 1 or 3 sentences about each section. Your first paragraph should be about the company's products or services, in other words the company description. The next few sentences should be about the market or industry you're in and give examples on what the trends in the industry are. The next sentence should describe the human resources that are part of the company and what people you will need to successfully operate the company. The next few sentences should describe your marketing plan and the final few sentences should describe your financial plan, this will include how much you going to charge for products and how much you plan to spend and make per year, or per month or for the next few years depending on the audience of the business plan. While this is simple, many people simply do not have the time to write an executive summary or business plan. After graduating law school and business school and working on Wall Street, I have devoted my life to helping entrepreneurs and CEOs develop investor ready and Bank ready business plans.
