A blog network is a group of blogs that are connected to each other in a network. A blog network can either be a group of loosely connected blogs, or a group of blogs that are owned by the same company. The purpose of such a network is usually to promote the other blogs in
the same network and therefore increase the advertising revenue generated from online advertising on the blogs.
Blog networks are commonly abused by black hat search engine optimization providers in order to give a false appearance of authority towards specific websites, which gives them a higher ranking in Google. In March 2012, Google took unprecedented action against this unethical behavior, by removing hundreds of websites from their search index.The simple way to understand what a Blog Network entails is simply imagine 10 websites, run by the same party, and all the advertisements or links on the side-top-or-bottom are linking to the same 10 websites. Each one of those websites will eventually lead you to one website...at least that is how the SEO game or traffic direction game is played by Internet Pros. Many realize the increased traffic generated by having people click off one site and onto another site they already own. Blog networks can be effective in keeping unique visitors on your webpages...even thought they think they are clicking to another website.
